Defense Department Names New Director of Defense Innovation Unit

Doug Beck, vice president of Apple will serve as the next director of the DOD’s Defense Innovation Unit, according to the agency Tuesday.

Beck will oversee the adoption of commercial technology throughout the military, said the Department of Defense.

He will also serve as a senior advisor to the secretary and deputy secretary of defense on technology innovation, competition, and strategic impact, the department said.
