Fiscal 2025 could mark a dip in non-defense annual contract obligations for the first time in more than a decade, according to Bloomberg Government analysis.
Civilian agencies together have reported $254 billion through Sept. 26. That’s running nearly $40 billion behind last year’s total—and those agencies obligated only $13.1 billion in the last four days of fiscal 2024.
Federal procurement obligations for fiscal 2025, including partial-year reporting for the Defense Department, total $584.2 billion. Pentagon spending data on unclassified contracts is reported on a 90-day delay for national security reasons and will be available Jan. 1.
