Revenue for contractors working in Virginia neared $108 billion in fiscal 2023 and grew 19% from the year before, according to Bloomberg Government data.
That rate is slower than Texas’s 22% year-over-year increase, but significantly higher than California’s 9%.
Three out of every 10 unclassified contract dollars for the five-year period since fiscal 2019 went to the three states, with Maryland coming in at the fourth spot and the District of Columbia fifth.
