Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC has agreed to pay $18.4 million to settle allegations of knowingly submitting false claims to the National Nuclear Security Administration, the Justice Department said Tuesday.

The company allegedly submitted claims for time not worked at NNSA’s Pantex site near Amarillo, Texas, according to the DOJ. CNS made admissions that certain production technicians at the Pantex plant recorded hours on their timesheets that they didn’t work.

CNS held a contract to manage and operate the site, which is a facility for the assembly, disassembly, and retrofitting of nuclear weapons, the DOJ said.
