CDC Rush to Hire General Dynamics ‘Inexplicable,’ Suit Says (1)

Karna LLC says US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took unjustified action by allowing General Dynamics Information Technology Inc. to start performing a flawed, Sept. 11-related $309 million health support contract.

Karna protested the World Trade Center Health Program third party administrator contract award at the Government Accountability Office Nov. 13, triggering a statutory automatic stay of performance.

CDC issued an improper override the next day, allowing General Dynamics to perform pending the GAO protest. Halting contract performance would pose significant health risks, the agency said then.
