California-based Nations Direct Mortgage LLC secured the dismissal of a False Claims Act suit alleging the residential mortgage money lender improperly received a nearly $3 million loan under the Covid-19 pandemic Paycheck Protection Program.
Whistleblower Relator LLC raised allegations that were substantially similar to information two websites already made public, which triggered the FCA’s public disclosure bar, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett of the US District Court for the Central District of California said in her decision dismissing the suit. Relator LLC has 21 days to file an amended complaint.
