The Defense Logistics Agency manages the Defense Department’s global supply chain, accounting for $190 billion in procurement for the period fiscal 2018 through fiscal 2022.
That level is 9.1% of the Pentagon’s overall procurement for the same period.
Most DLA procurement dollars come through its internal sales of goods and materials to DOD components and other agencies via the Defense-wide Working Capital Fund. The agency purchased $25 billion in supplies annually for fiscal 2000 through fiscal 2022 and forecast similar levels of purchases again in fiscal 2023.
