Bell Textron’s $7 Billion Army Copter Award Withstands Challenge

Bell Textron Inc. can move forward with an assault helicopter development contract worth up to $7 billion, the GAO said.

Protester Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. unsuccessfully challenged several aspects of the the US Army’s bid evaluations, including the Army’s decision to assign its bid an “unacceptable” rating under the engineering and development factor, architecture subfactor, which made its bid ineligible, the Government Accountability Office said in a decision released Thursday.

Sikorsky submitted its bid as part of a teaming agreement with Boeing Co. Sikorsky is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp..
