Army ‘Flunked’ Assignment to Justify Procurement Cancellation

The Army must reinstate a procurement worth $365 million because its decision to cancel last year was “devoid” of reasoning.

It can still find a lawful way to cancel the systems engineering and technical assistance III procurement if it no longer wants to acquire the services this way. But the Army acted irrationally in reaching its cancellation decision, Judge Zachary N. Somers of the US Court of Federal Claims said in an opinion made public on Thursday. The court announced its decision to enjoin the Army from canceling SETA III July 25.
