Anthem Gets US to Cover Added Data Security Costs in FCA Case

Anthem Inc. convinced a New York federal district court that the US government should cover costs to ensure data security in a False Claims Act suit accusing the company of defrauding Medicare.

Anthem’s concern for data security is reasonable, especially given how data in this case has already been the subject of a cyber attack, Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Wednesday order.
