Amentum Whistleblower Advances Air Force Contract Fraud Claim

Amentum Services Inc. and others must continue to defend against a whistleblower suit alleging fraud under a US Air Force contract to provide Afghanistan evacuee support.

Whistleblower Adam Josephs adequately alleged the company violated the False Claims Act by engaging in subcontract stacking, which occurs when layered contracts through an intermediary artificially increase costs and hide markups, Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher of the US District Court for the District of Maryland said in a Wednesday opinion.
