Amedisys, Former Executive Settle False Claims Retaliation Suit

Home health company Amedisys Inc. and a former vice president have settled a lawsuit alleging that the company violated the False Claims Act by firing her in retaliation for calling attention to Medicare fraud.

The suit, filed at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2017, is closed, according to a Thursday notification of docket entry. “The parties have resolved their dispute,” said plaintiff Therese Burke’s counsel Benjamin P.
