Afghanistan Medical Equipment Contractor Owed Servicing Costs

An Afghanistan-based medical equipment contractor for the US State Department is owed $7,620 plus interest for work performed under a contract prior to the Taliban takeover in August 2021, the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals said Wednesday.

SAL Logistics showed it incurred costs under the contract to replace an x-ray tube and to perform updates on a broken mobile x-ray machine at the US embassy for which it wasn’t compensated, Board Judge Kathleen J. O’Rourke said.
