AECOM Wins Protest of Vertex’s $535 Million Navy Task Order

AECOM Management Services Inc. demonstrated that the Navy improperly awarded Vertex Aerospace LLC a $535 million task order for contractor logistics support because the agency engaged in unequal communications with bidders, the GAO said in a decision released Friday.

The Navy should reopen interchanges with AECOM, explain how the contractor can improve its bid, and provide AECOM an opportunity to submit a revised bid. It should also perform a new evaluation and make another award decision, the Government Accountability Office said.
