AECOM Whistleblower Gets Afghan Billing Suit Held for SCOTUS Bid

A six-year False Claims Act suit alleging AECOM improperly billed the U.S. Army under an Afghanistan support contract will be stayed to let the whistleblower challenge a recent appeals court ruling at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judge Louis L. Stanton of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York agreed Thursday with the parties’ stipulation that conserving judicial resources requires halting the case until former AECOM employee Hassan Foreman completes his Supreme Court appeal.

Foreman claimed that AECOM overbilled the Army under a $2 billion contract under which it provided vehicle maintenance services.
