Abu Ghraib Detainees Get New Trial Against CACI in Abuse Case

CACI Premier Technology Inc. will again face trial on claims that the defense contractor aided and abetted the abuse of three detainees at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq in 2003 and 2004.

The plaintiffs’ motion for a new trial was granted by Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in a June 14 order. An opinion detailing the judge’s reasoning hasn’t been posted yet to the docket. A jury on May 2 failed to reach a unanimous decision in the first trial.
