Yellen Says She Sees ‘No Basis’ to Probe Musk’s Twitter Deal

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she sees “no basis” to start an investigation into Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter Inc., which has drawn scrutiny over concerns about possible influence from foreign governments, including China and Saudi Arabia.

Musk’s $44 billion takeover of Twitter has triggered a wave of reactions given its role as a powerful platform to influence public opinion. He’s also drawn increased attention in Washington given his business interests across rocket and satellite technologies, as well as electric vehicles and green energy, which intersect with US national security priorities
