White House Reviews SEC, CFTC Bid to Revisit Swaps Reporting

The White House is reviewing an early-stage move from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to revisit reporting requirements for both swaps and security-based swaps, as the two market regulators continue their effort to better coordinate.

The measure is marked as being in a “prerule” stage, according to a new post on the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, which would allow for the CFTC and SEC to take public input before the agencies formally propose a rule.
