Wells Fargo & Co. and American Express Co. shareholders on Tuesday repelled bids from both ESG supporters and DEI foes for information on the financial giants’ commitments.

New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and asset manager Harrington Investments Inc. sought reports from Wells Fargo on its environmental, social, and governance policies, raising questions about whether the megabank was meeting ESG commitments.
