Visa Investors Reject Proposal to Shine Light on Gun Sales Flags

Visa Inc. shareholders rejected a proposal seeking insight into how the payments processor is navigating conflicting US state laws governing efforts to flag firearm sales.

The National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative shareholder activist group, presented the proposal at the company’s annual meeting on Tuesday. It follows Visa’s 2023 decision to pause plans to implement a new sales code for tracking card users’ purchases at gun and ammunition stores, except in states where it’s now required.
