Virtu Countersued by Tech Executive Who Left for Clear Street

Virtu Financial Inc.'s ex-head of client technology, who left in August for Clear Street LLC, sued his ex-employer in Delaware in a bid to invalidate a noncompete clause the market maker is asserting against him.

The lawsuit made public Wednesday takes aim at a “sweepingly overbroad” provision that allegedly bars Nathan Clark “from working for any financial firm anywhere in the world in any position whatsoever—even as a janitor—for three years.” The complaint is a response to a suit Virtu filed in New York in August seeking an order that would block Clark from divulging trade secrets he had access ...
