Verizon Shareholders Reject Call to End All Political Spending

Verizon investors on Thursday voted against a proposal that aimed to dissect the telecommunications conglomerate’s political donations.

The proposal, brought by Trillium Asset Management, asked the company to publish a third-party report looking into how barring corporate donations to political candidates, either directly or through political action committees, would impact its business. The proposal also asked that the report examine the impact of eliminating such donations on the industry and the country more broadly.
