Veolia Appoints Brachlianoff as CEO, Frerot Remains Chairman (1)

Veolia Environnement SA said it will elevate Chief Operating Officer Estelle Brachlianoff to the position of CEO on July 1, succeeding Antoine Frerot who will remain as chairman.

The announcement on Monday comes as the French waste and water treatment giant is poised to complete the acquisition a large chunk of its rival Suez SA. Among Brachlianoff’s first tasks will be combining the global operations of the two entities, forming a company with 230,000 employees and 37 billion euros ($42 billion) in annual revenue.
