US Permitting Office Picks New Mines to Guide Through Process

A federal office charged with speeding up environmental permits said on Friday it’s going to help five new critical mineral projects navigate the complex federal approval process.

The effort by the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council aligns with the Trump administration’s bid to increase domestic mineral production and boost the mining industry.

FPISC works to harmonize different agencies’ reviews, anticipate kinks before they cause delays, and help hold agencies accountable to meeting deadlines.
