Urban Outfitters fell as much as 4.6% after announcing Tricia D. Smith joined the Anthropologie team as the new global chief executive officer, succeeding Hillary Super who stepped down from the post on April 9.

  • Jefferies analyst Janine Stichter hailed the hire in a report Monday, saying Smith was “well-regarded” during her short tenure at Tilly’s and credited with “significant positive change”
  • Smith previously was chief merchandising offer at Tilly’s, which she joined in 2019 after leaving a general merchandise manager of women’s young contemporary, designer and specialized apparel post at Nordstrom
