Tyson Hit With Investor Lawsuit on Child Labor Violation Reports

A shareholder is suing Tyson Foods Inc. for corporate records over the growing legal scrutiny the company faces for the alleged use of illegal child labor at its packing and processing plants.

The lawsuit, filed in Delaware, seeks internal documents from the poultry giant to investigate concerns that its corporate leaders turned a blind eye to the exploitation of children as young as 13—particularly migrant children—placed by subcontractors in hazardous jobs including overnight shifts cleaning caustic chemicals at Tyson facilities.
