Tyson Foods Includes Immigration Proposal Amid SEC Neutrality

Shareholders asked Tyson Foods Inc., one of the world’s top meat processors, to issue a report on how the changing US immigration landscape affects the company’s finances and operations.

The proposal was included in the company’s proxy statement filed Wednesday. Tyson asked the Securities and Exchange Commission in September to advise on whether it could keep the resolution from the Sisters of St. Francis Charitable Trust off its ballot, but the agency declined to weigh in following its sea-change decision to stop refereeing shareholder proposal disputes in general.
