Trump EPA Accused by States of Ignoring Biden-Era Soot Rules (1)

California and about a dozen states and localities are suing the Environmental Protection Agency alleging it didn’t implement an updated federal standard regulating how much soot can be found in the air.

The lawsuit alleges the EPA missed a February 2025 deadline to determine which areas in the US don’t comply with Biden-era standards of the Clean Air Act, meaning “the standards cannot be fully implemented,” the states and localities allege in their lawsuit.
