Troubled Ethanol Maker Green Plains Picks Operations Boss as CEO

Green Plains Inc. named an executive responsible for operations and technology as its new chief executive officer, ending a five-month period without a top boss at the indebted US ethanol maker.

Chris Osowski, who joined Green Plains in 2022 as executive vice president of operations and technology, replaces longtime CEO Todd Becker, who stepped down in February. Becker left the company under fierce investor pressure after his bets on everything from fish feed to clean sugar failed to pay off.
