A Texas federal judge rejected the state attorney general’s bid to block the enforcement of the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s new workplace harassment guidance, ruling that he cannot resurrect a closed case to seek such relief.
US District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk said Wednesday that federal court rules require Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to file a new case to challenge the EEOC’s guidance, which shields LGBTQ+ employees who seek to use pronouns and bathrooms consistent with their gender identity.
