Tesla Asks SEC to Block Proposal Aimed at Musk Political Speech

Elon Musk’s Tesla, known as much for its politically active CEO as its cars, doesn’t want shareholders to even discuss clamping down on its executives’ political speech.

The Securities and Exchange Commission should let Tesla Inc. exclude a shareholder proposal for a “political neutrality policy” from its corporate ballot because it constitutes “micromanagement” and would be too hard to enforce, according to a no-action request from the company recorded Wednesday on the SEC’s website.
