Subnautica Developers Say Krafton Press Leak Defied Court Ruling

Developers of the blockbuster Subnautica video game franchise accused their studio’s parent company of flouting a court ruling with a PR stunt meant to undermine its CEO.

The allegation came days after the founders of Unknown Worlds Entertainment scored a victory in their months-long legal battle against South Korean gaming company Krafton Inc., which has ties to Chinese tech giant Tencent. Krafton responded to the decision restoring creative control to CEO Edward Gill by immediately leaking a release date to the press, a move “aimed at handcuffing Gill and damaging the game,” the March 20 filing said.
