Sheppard Mullin Taps Jared Whalen as Partner From Kirkland

Jared Whalen joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner in its tax, employee benefits, and trusts and estates practice group in Houston, the firm announced Wednesday.

Whalen advises public and private companies, including private equity funds and their portfolio companies, on executive compensation and employee benefits matters in corporate transactions. He also advises clients on equity incentive plans and negotiates executive employment, change in control and separation agreements, the firm said.

He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
