SEC Indirect Emission Reporting Plan Draws More Democratic Worry

Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota has joined Democrats cautioning the SEC against regulations that would require big companies to report their supply chain emissions.

Proposed Securities and Exchange Commission requirements for the greenhouse gas emissions disclosures could harm relationships between family farmers and large companies, and create new burdens for small suppliers, Klobuchar said in a letter to SEC Chair Gary Gensler Tuesday. Her letter came after Democratic senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana shared similar concerns.
