Republican AGs Push for US Boycott of COP30 Climate Summit

West Virginia Attorney General John McCuskey and attorneys general from 16 other states on Thursday called on the Trump administration to skip next month’s COP30 climate conference in Brazil, arguing that taking part would legitimize policies at odds with President Donald Trump’s agenda.

The administration has not confirmed whether it will send an official delegation to the United Nations-sponsored summit, which begins in less than a month. Trump has started the process of withdrawing the US from the global Paris Agreement on climate change, but the country remains a party to the accord for now.
