Shareholder Adviser ISS Kills Diversity Criteria for Boards (1)

Institutional Shareholder Services, which advises investors on how to vote in company meetings, will stop considering diversity as a factor for US corporate boards, citing anti-DEI orders from President Donald Trump.

“ISS will no longer consider the gender and racial and/or ethnic diversity of a company’s board when making vote recommendations with respect to the election or re-election of directors at US companies,” the proxy adviser said in a statement on its website Tuesday. The new guidelines will apply to recommendations published on or after Feb. 25.
