Philanthropist Family Feud Lands in Delaware’s Business Court

A cancer philanthropist’s widow froze their son out of the family’s financial holding company while meddling in his divorce, offloading corporate properties, and steering a “mountain of cash” to herself, according to a lawsuit by his affiliates.

Investment vehicles linked to Donald Netter are suing Barbara Netter and two other Geneve Holdings Inc. board members in Delaware’s Chancery Court over their stewardship of the conglomerate founded by the late Edward Netter. The centerpiece of Geneve’s liquidation spree was Independence Holding Co., an insurer it took private for $333 million in 2022, according to the court complaint made public Wednesday. ...
