Norway Warns on Executive Pay, Pushes for Climate Targets

Norway wants state-owned companies to limit the growth in pay for top executives and set clear targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Remuneration for corporate leaders has grown too quickly in recent years and needs to slow to bring it more in line with general wage growth and reduce inequality, Trade & Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre told reporters in Oslo on Friday at the presentation of a review of state ownership strategy. Companies should also set science-based targets and take measures to cut emissions, he said.
