Nikola Seeks to Limit General Counsel’s Advice in Milton Trial

Nikola Corp. says its founder Trevor Milton is attempting to use privileged communications with the company’s general counsel at his fraud trial and asked a judge to block him from doing so.

Milton plans to defend against the fraud charges, partly by claiming he was relying on lawyers’ advice. Nikola agreed to let him use the advice he received from the company’s general counsel Britton Worthen in his defense, but says he now wants to push the privilege waiver further by including the advice Worthen gave other employees at the clean-energy truck maker.
