Nike Nixes Bids to Reassess Garment Worker Treatment Risks (2)

Nike Inc. investors voted against two proposals Tuesday that pressed the sports apparel giant to further scrutinize how it manages human rights risks.

Both proposals centered on the apparel business’ supply chain oversight and management to ensure workers are being treated fairly at Nike suppliers. Nike didn’t disclose vote tallies when the company announced preliminary results at its annual meeting.

Nike did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the vote outcome.
