Murdochs Win Round in Court Over Dominion Defamation Settlement

Rupert Murdoch scored the chance Monday to avoid a trial over allegations he’s personally to blame for a $787.5 million defamation settlement over Fox News coverage of the 2020 presidential election and its aftermath.

A judge agreed to revisit portions of a decision by one of her colleagues that had set up a high-stakes trial of the shareholder claims against the media mogul, his son Lachlan, former US House Speaker Paul Ryan, and other current and former Fox Corp. board members.
