Microsoft Investors Rebuff Calls to Delve Into AI Risk, Privacy

Microsoft Corp. shareholders on Tuesday rejected three proposals pressing the tech giant to mitigate and disclose AI risks from misinformation to breaches of data privacy.

Microsoft—a major investor in and partner of ChatGPT creator OpenAI—is the latest big tech company to face AI scrutiny from shareholders this year. Investors are asking companies to consider new transparency and ethics policies for developing and using AI, including generative AI, as they wrangle with the fast-developing technology.
