Masimo Founder Kiani Gets Severance Dispute Sent to California

Masimo Corp. founder Joe Kiani won a Delaware court ruling Tuesday sending his dispute with the biotech company back to California, where he first sued for hundreds of millions after losing control to an activist hedge fund.

A judge rejected the company’s bid to litigate the dispute in Delaware’s Chancery Court, where Masimo responded to Kiani’s first-filed California lawsuit—seeking severance worth $450 million at the time—by seeking to invalidate his employment agreement.
