Kroger Investors Approve Racial, Gender Pay-Gap Proposal (1)

Shareholders of Kroger Company voted Thursday in favor of a proposal calling for the company to report on racial and gender pay gaps.

The proposal, filed by Arjuna Capital, asked the grocery store giant to report the unadjusted median and adjusted pay gaps across race and gender, as well as reputational, competitive or operational risks around recruiting and retaining diverse talent. The proposal received 51% of investor support.

Kroger didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment after the meeting.
