Kaaboo Music Fest Case Won by Company Linked to Branson’s Virgin

One of two businesses that collaborated to put on the Kaaboo Del Mar music festival near San Diego defeated the other Friday in a legal dispute over a $10 million transaction.

Judge Paul R. Wallace ruled largely for Virgin Fest LLC, a marketing company that has a licensing deal with an affiliate of British billionaire Richard Branson. The case concerned its partial buyout of Surf’s Up Legacy Partners LLC, original producer of the Kaaboo festival, which presents itself as an upscale event featuring A-list acts including Aerosmith, Snoop Dogg, and Pink.
