JPMorgan ESG Head Sees War Speeding Up Shift to Renewable Energy

The combination of Russia’s war on Ukraine and a deepening energy crisis is likely to speed up the shift away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s global head of sustainable investing, Jennifer Wu.

“With everything happening since the beginning of the year, it has served as a catalyst to accelerate a transition to a low-carbon economy,” Wu said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s Francine Lacqua on Wednesday. And that is “something we need from an investment standpoint, but also at the country and geopolitical level.”
