Jewish Professor Advances Discrimination Claims Against College

A California college failed in its bid to dismiss a Jewish professor’s discrimination and hostile environment claims after she raised concerns about what she alleged was pro-Palestinian bias among school leaders and faculty exhibited soon after the 2023 Hamas attack against Israel.

While Karen Fiss’s Title VII claims survived a motion to dismiss from the California College of the Arts, her other claims are dismissed, said Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr., of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
