JCPenney Owner Catalyst Brands To Cut 9% of Corporate Staff (1)

Catalyst Brands, parent company to retailers including JCPenney and Brooks Brothers, is cutting about 9% of its corporate staff as part of a review of the business, a company spokesperson said.

JCPenney and SPARC Group, which operated Lucky Brand, Eddie Bauer, Aéropostale, and other chains, announced the merger of the two businesses on January 8. These fresh layoffs come on top of a previous round of cuts, when the company trimmed about 5% of corporate roles.
