The cognac-making joint venture that sparked a legal battle between music mogul Jay-Z and spirits manufacturer Bacardi Ltd. may be worth more than $3 billion, according to newly unsealed court filings.
The dispute largely concerns the value of D’Usse LLC, which Jay-Z claims the liquor giant is running into the ground. The litigation—involving four cases in two courts and an arbitration proceeding—stems from Jay-Z’s demand that Bacardi either exit the venture or buy out his 50% stake at a fair price.
