Sen. Jim Justice (R-W.Va.) and his wife Cathy owe outstanding payments of what the IRS describes as tax liabilities of more than $8 million, including interest and penalties, according to documents.
IRS tax lien notices, dated Sept. 30 and stamped by the Greenbrier County, W.Va., clerk on Oct. 2, describe that Justice and his wife have unpaid balances from periods ending in 2009, 2017, and 2022. The documents don’t describe why he owes the taxes, or why the IRS filed the documents now.
